Abigail Matthews, Trainee  Abigail Matthews is from Pittsboro, Indiana. She began her training at Ballet Internationale in 1999, deciding to be a professional at the age of seven training under Clark Blakely, Alyona Yakovleva, and Tatiana Pali. She was in the supporting cast of Ballet Internationale's Sleeping Beauty and had featured roles in The Nutcracker for six years.Since Ballet Internationale's closing in 2005, she has continued to study under Alyona Yakovleva and Tatiana Pali at the Russian Ballet Academy of Indiana. She has had featured roles in IBC and RBAI productions of The Nutcracker, Love and Gravity, On Earth We Stand, Chopiniana, Paquita, Phantom of the Opera, and From Shakespeare with Love. She has competed in the Youth America Grand Prix 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2009 where she placed in the top twelve in classical and second place in her contemporary in the Semifinals. She has been a trainee with IBC since its premier in 2006. | |
