Mary Ann Schaefer, Trainee  Mary Ann Schaefer was born in Memphis, Tennessee, where at age nine she began dancing at the Allegro Ballet Academy. After moving to Indiana at age twelve she studied at the Clara R. Noyes Academy of Ballet Internationale under Alyona Yakovleva, Clark Blakley, and Tatiana Pali.Since Ballet Internationale's closing in 2005, she has continued to study under Alyona Yakovleva and Tatiana Pali at the Russian Ballet Academy of Indiana. She has competed in Youth America Grand Prix 2005, '06 and '07, where she won First Place in Classical at the Semifinal and was awarded a scholarship to Harid Conservatory of the Arts at the Finals in New York. Recently at YAGP 2009 in New York, she received a scholarship to Ballet West's summer intensive program in Salt Lake City, Utah. Miss Schaefer has been a trainee with IBC since it's premier in 2006. | |
